I was sad to hear that Bo Diddley died. That guy had an amazing career and life. And I just loved his guitar, the Twang Machine. It looked so cool and unusual for a guitar! He sure could make is sing.

Love you Dan. Flagstaff won’t be the same without you. You will never be forgotten buddy. I hope they have tie-die in heaven. No you will never be able to move to Oregon, but the life you lived was extraordinary. At least know that your life has touched an entire school, a community, and maybe a town. I remember Daniel in elementary school and his brother as well. When i heard about this today(4/13/08) i could not believe it. Daniel was someone i never could have imagined not making it to a happy life when he was older. I would very much like to go to the funeral and if i could get information on it mailed to me i would be very grateful. Daniel will be missed and his spot in this world is one that can never be filled. I hope that i can be there amoung all of his friends old and new when he is seen off on the next great adventure.

My son , 13, knew Daniel from Arizona Music Pro. After I heard what happened to him, I wake up every morning thinking of Daniel ’s spirit, i only knew him from his photo at Arizona Music Pro where he taught drums (at 17!) . The photo told me that Daniel is an angel in our midst. You can tell by the expression on his face that he only had good thoughts and intentions, joy of life and deep intelligence. My sincere condolences go to his parents. This deeply affects all of us who knew him or knew of him, here in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Daniel was my student. Let me echo your words that he was great person. It is Monday morning here in class. I doubt we will even do the lesson today. I posted a note on his chair. Alumni that knew him are here. Some here to console, some to find solcace in this loss. We lost a free spirit. One who would paint his shirt and wear it with pride. Or, let the his hair gro to a fro. Easy to smile, easy to dance, and ever carring about those around him. You are teaching the lesson today Daniel.

Hi John, I came by to visit your new blog home. I’ve been away from the blog for a while and when I dropped by I saw that you have moved! Up and left us at Jumano? I probably missed it, but didn’t realize you were residing at a rez? I spent some time in Durango many years ago. The pictures are beautiful. Our Potawatomi rez in Oklahoma is not so pretty. I also have Cherokee and Blackfeet blood mixed with the German, French and English causing truely genetic confusion. The lambs sound adorable! How fun for your kids. The house looks great. I agree with you, the state of the nation is as dire as ever. A nation forged in crisis remains so. Take care, I’ll be back. Brenda
